Alison Sweeney: Thoughts on Pet Obesity & Jillian
According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, 54 percent of America's pet population is
overweight. Sweeney, who also stars on the daily soap opera "Days of Our Lives," became aware of pet obesity when she took her Boston Terrier, Winky, to the vet and was told her pooch could stand to lose a few pounds. After adjusting Winky's diet and making a few changes, the canine is back in shape.
With the Million Pound Pledge, Sweeney is urging pet owners to come together on petfit.com and collectively help their animals drop a combined one million pounds by March 30.
Sweeney spoke to Reuters about the plan and pet obesity.
Q: When did you realize Winky was getting fat?
A: "She was a little thick, but I thought it was kind of cute. The vet explained she was a good two pounds overweight and when your dog is only 19 lbs, that's a lot. People don't realize what a significant difference a pound or two can make on a small animal."
Q: What's the most common mistake people make when it comes to feeding their pets?
A: "The number one mistake is giving pets table scraps. I made the mistake thinking I was

Jillian Michaels Sexy GoDaddy Commerical: An Opposing View
"For people who have a problem with it, honestly, get a life," Michaels tells The Hollywood Reporter. "There's so many things you can be worrying about. A Super Bowl spot is not one of them." Actually there are three commercials airing during the Super Bowl starring Michaels and Go Daddy regular Danica Patrick. The Internet domain registrar is famous for its racy advertisements, that some argue objectify women. Michaels insists the three spots are "very respectful of me and Danica. It's okay to be sexy. It's okay to have fun. It's okay to be racy." "I don't think the spots are in any way distasteful," Michaels adds. "I think the perception is Go Daddy objectifies women. But the reality is Go Daddy takes strong women and allows us to be sexy and feminine. And yet still powerful." Michaels refused to give details about the ads except to say that one in particular -- "The Contract" is meant to be played for supreme humor. She also pointed out that even in the raciest of the three ads -- "I have more on in the Go Daddy spot than I do my own exercise DVDs." "People love to bitch and complain about something," she says.
Are Jillian's GoDaddy Super Bowl Commercials Sexist?
Today, Deborah Dunham weighed in on Jillian Michaels new GoDaddy commercial at BlissTree;
...Danica Patrick and Michaels who are shown painting the naked body of a model while talking about the supposed benefits of a dot-CO domain–benefits that seemingly exploit and sexualize a woman’s body.
Michaels defends the racy ad by telling USA Today:

Trusting Our Success:An Inside Look at Jillian Michaels' Empire
What does it take before we can truly believe in our success - trust that it is real? How much do we need before we can finally relax and feel as thought we're safe? Finally, the trajectory of Jillian's company has allowed her to believe that none of it will be going away anytime soon.
During a recent interview with Forbes, Jillian Michaels and her business pulled back the curtain, and gave us a rare glimpse into the pressures and challenges behind their flourishing company. They openly admitted to making some mistakes along the way, and with surprising candor referenced Jillian's recent stint on the Doctors as one of them. Although grateful for the opportunity, they said that they were rushed into a contract without an opportunity to adequately flush out the details - details that included what exactly Jillian would be expected to do. And clearly, what came to pass was not exactly what she and GC had had in mind.
